No usual Monday briefing today, as I spent most of my Monday in A&E, accompanying my grandmother who took a tumble in the wee hours. The bed crunch in public hospitals is terrifyingly real, folks. She has been in the A&E’s observation ward the whole day as no beds in general are available. If you have no real need for A&E services, please, visit a GP or polyclinic instead. Beds and wheelchairs are lining the corridors, doctors and nurses are being run ragged.
In happier news, my stickers from
of Southeast Asian Archaeology finally arrived in the post, thank you! They are the perfect blend of cute and evocative.“New” organ? More like long-held knowledge
I do have one interesting thing to share this week, however. Back in 2018, scientists declared that they believed they discovered a new organ, the interstitium, a series of interconnected, fluid-filled compartments throughout the body. Thing is, practitioners of TCM have long known about that, and a form of myofascial therapeutic massage called bojin, which works so well because it works on the interstitium. How many more new things will be “discovered”, I wonder, in years to come?
Wishing your grandmother a speedy recovery too!
I’m getting word that they are reaching their destinations. Have fun with them! I have my laptop and suitcase covered with them now
