… I shall be taking a break (and also I’m hosting a housewarming hotpot dinner tonight, hence frantic scrubbing of toilets in tropical humidity)
and will be back next week with the usual programming.
I’ve noticed a small uptick of subscribers thanks to @vgr’s recommendation on Substack. Welcome! For now you get weekly Monday Briefings, which is about as much as I can manage right now with a full-time job, a couple of side gigs, and way too many flirtations with hobbies.
That said, I’ve scribbled a few notes on negative spaces – inspired and prompted by architectural photographer Finbarr Fallon – and how they might relate to understanding what other people are communicating. I’m hoping to develop these thoughts into a fully-fleshed post.
If you have any thoughts or feedback, please send them my way in comments or email. I’d love to hear from you, especially if we don’t already know each other.
P. S. If you haven’t already, please check out @vgr’s series on lore.
P. P. S. Check out Fallon’s portraits of Singapore.
